Set against the backdrop of the beautiful English Riviera Geopark, Tor Bay has been used as a venue for sailing competitions for many years.
This year we are celebrating 200 years since the first recorded Sailing Match in the Bay. Over the centuries, Tor Bay has become one of the most popular sailing venues in the UK with sheltered waters from the North, West and South. It has been the venue for countless prestigious regattas, famously being the sailing venue for the 1948 Olympics.
The annual Sailing Regatta is now organised and run by Torbay Week, a collaboration between the four local Sailing and Yacht Clubs. Each Club has a long history of hosting professionally run major National and International Championships and regattas. Now entering its 6th year, Torbay Week has become one of the premiere sailing regattas in the South West.

Torbay Week brings together a wealth of knowledge and expertise resulting in an enjoyable and competitive event open to all classes of Dinghies and Yachts.
Racing is divided into four main groupings, IRC yachts, Keel boats, Dinghies and Junior Dinghies, with each course managed by an experienced race management team.
Races are held each day for most boat classes and there are social events hosted by the host Clubs in the evenings.
For those not taking part on the water, the horseshoe shape of the bay provides plenty of opportunities for close-up spectating.
There are also a host of other attractions and land based activities available.
