Moorings for Torbay Week 2008.

Yachts and Keelboats
Through the support of Tor Bay Harbour, moorings on the Town Dock/Haldon Pier pontoons at Torquay and the Town Pontoon at Brixham are free of charge for the duration of the Torbay Week (Friday 22nd to Wednesday 27th August 2008) for vessels that have entered the racing and are flying the appropriate pendant. Vessels arriving early or leaving late, outside of the event dates, will be charged the normal visitor rates. Any support vessel may be allowed to moor with the approval of the Harbour Master but will be charged at the appropriate rate.

It must be stressed that these facilities are not marinas and they have limited facilities. Showers and other facilities are available at the yacht clubs.

For those wishing, the marinas at Torquay and Brixham, operated by MDL do have visitor berths and full service and facilities. If you want to be based in one of these marinas, you must book up your space as it is a busy period and does get full.

Dinghies
Space has been allocated on Paignton Green for dinghies and is again free of charge for the duration of the event. Similar terms apply to a limited amount of quayside space at Torquay harbour but please let us know if you want to put your dinghy there.

Launching
For those dayboats, sportsboats and small yachts that are being trailed on land to Torbay, then there are launching slips at all three harbours. You will need to contact the appropriate harbour office to get access. Storage of trailers however will in most cases have to be away from the immediate harbour area. Please let us know if you require space to store your trailer.

Craneage
For those that wish to launch and recover their boats by crane, then facilities are limited generally to Torquay although there is a crane at Brixham inner harbour that can be available through the Harbour Office at Brixham (01803 851854).
At Torquay a limited number of small sportsboats and dayboats classes may be able to use the RTYC hoist but this has a weight limit. If you wish to use this facility please contact the RTYC office (01803 292006) at least two weeks in advance of arrival so that arrangement can be considered. There is a larger commercial crane available from Torbay Seaways (01803 296570).
